Harrow Green Community Library opened in May 2013 to fill the considerable gap left by the closure of Harrow Green Branch Library in 2011. The library is run entirely by volunteers.
Our aim is to provide a resource and a community space that is local and accessible, especially to the Cathall and Cann Hall wards in Waltham Forest.
Thanks to many individual donations we now have a collection of 4,000 books with a particularly strong fiction collection. We are also currently expanding our collection of entry-level English books to aid those learning English as a second language.
We host a variety of activities for all ages in the community – follow the links to find out more about our Reading Group, Creative Writing Group, and children’s Story Time sessions.
We are based in The Junction, an adult education centre on the corner of Cathall Road, in a room kindly provided by Waltham Forest ALS. We also operate a Children’s Library from the Epicentre community centre for which we are grateful to the Peabody housing association for paying the rent on.
Please come and visit us, become a member, and enjoy our collection!
