As part of Leytonstone Festival, our Saturday Family Storytime session was recently transformed into ‘Over Land and Sea’, a voyage across Leytonstone’s little-known h
igh seas and beyond!
We were pirates shipwrecked on an island in a terrible storm, with only a rabbit to snuggle up to and coconuts to sustain us. We wrote a “help me” message with a quill pen and put it in a bottle in the sea. We made our own paper ship and a treasure chest for our gold coins. Then, once we were back on dry land, we listened to a story about how pirates helped their very tired parrot.
Saturday Family Storytime will continue throughout the summer (with a break on 1st August).
