Membership
To join the library you need to fill in a membership form. Forms are available in the library or you can print this form and bring it with you when you visit us.

Whichever way you register you will need to bring a proof of address with you to the library at some point.
Anyone aged 16 or older can join free of charge as a full adult member provided they have suitable identification and a permanent UK address. Children under 16 can also get a membership but will require a signature from their parent or guardian.
Accepted forms of proof of address
You must show one item from the list below.
- Waltham Forest Library membership card
- Full current valid UK photo-card driving licence
- Recent bank statement
- Recent utility bill
- Council tax statement
- Recent tenancy agreement
- Medical card or medical appointment letter
- Student Loans Company letter or letter from college
- Hostel accommodation letter (for those with no fixed abode)
- Electoral Register
Utility bills must be dated within the last three months.
Membership Cards
Harrow Green Community Library is an independent organisation, and is not associated with any other council run Waltham Forest Libraries.
You will be issued with a seperate membership card when you join with us.
Whilst membership is free, there is a charge of £1.00 for replacement cards.
Library Guidelines
Our goal is to ensure that everyone has a positive experience when using the Library. As part of this commitment:

- Respect and value each other
- Follow and implement the latest guidance and precautionary measures in relation to COVID-19
- Publicise services and keep members informed of any changes
- Be transparent in the application of our policies and procedures
- Where practical act upon feedback and suggestions
- Ensure appropriate risk assessments are in place
- Quarantine items in accordance with REALM studies
You will:
- Respect and value each other
- Adhere to COVID-19 signage and any other instructions that aim to keep us all safe, particularly the compulsory wearing of face masks unless exempt
- Take responsibility for loss or damage of stock in your possession
- Refrain from using abusive, threatening, offensive language or any other form of harassment
- Not leave children (12 and under) unattended
- Not use tobacco or e-cigarettes on the premises
- Not obstruct entrances/exits
- Refrain from solicitation, campaigning, or petitioning
- Not bring animals (except service animals) into the building
- Comply with requests to leave the building in the case of fire, fire drills or other emergencies
Visitors who cannot or will not comply may be asked to leave and could be suspended or excluded from the library, or subject to arrest and prosecution.
