How many items can I borrow at one time?

The amount of items you can borrow varies by item type. You can borrow a maximum of:

  • 3 Books
  • 2 ESOL Books
  • 3 DVDs
  • 2 Audio Books

You can borrow up to a total of 5 items at once by borrowing different types of items up to the maximums listed above.

How long can I borrow items for?

All items can be borrowed for 3 weeks, with the exception of Adult Literacy & ESOL Books which can be borrowed for a maximum of 2 weeks.

Are there fees for overdue items?

We do not charge you if you are late returning your items, but libraries work best when everyone shares responsibility and respects due dates. Each item is stamped accordingly to remind you!

How do I renew items?

You can renew items up to 5 times provided nobody else has requested the same item.

You can renew:

  • in person at the library
  • by telephone on 0208 558 2159
  • via our online catalogue*

*You will need a PIN to login to our online system. Please contact us if you have trouble logging in.

Do you have more items than those currently on the shelves?

We have lots of items in storage. If you cannot find a title from our catalogue on the shelves you can ask for the item to be reserved for you. Please speak to a volunteer to find out more.

Do you charge for lost or damaged items?

Replacement charges will apply for any non-returned, lost or damaged items.
